About Dr. Ruben Rabinsky
( Founder and President )
Dr. Ruben Rabinsky graduated with a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Miami in July, 1998, and he has been teaching there since he was a graduate student, for about 14 years. Dr. Rabinsky’s dissertation is on the Philosophy of Journalism: On the Theory and Practice of the News Enterprise, which was supervised by Professor Alan Goldman, then Chair of the Department. Dr. Rabinsky’s other main areas of research are in Applied Philosophy, Ethics, Political Philosophy, Business Ethics, Philosophy of Law, Critical Thinking & Informal Logic, and the Philosophy of Entrepreneurship. As a full-time Faculty at the University of Miami, he has devoted his professional career to teaching and developing new courses in the Philosophy Department (including Environmental Ethics, Philosophy of Journalism, Business Ethics, and a new course entitled, “Mediation, Arbitration, and Philosophical Practice”). Dr. Rabinsky is a certified Civil Mediator, and is a certified Philosophical Counselor (affiliated with the American Philosophical Practitioner’s Association in New York City). Dr. Rabinsky has taught over 20 different courses at the University of Miami, and has received various awards for Excellence in Teaching. He is fluent in Spanish.
